The Coalition of Immokalee Workers keeps an eye on the fields to make sure workers are paid fair wages. Jessica Ilyse Kurn talks to the Coalition’s co-founder Greg Asbed.
The Natural Resources Defense Council’s new food justice prize goes to the co-founders of the Coalition of Immokalee Workers (CIW), Greg Asbed andLucas Benitez. Their organization has revolutionized Florida's $600 million tomato industry by pushing for labor standards, fair wages, and education as part of their Fair Food Program.
